Just back from Udders with campmates Mao Kun (3SG MP SPEC) and Zhong Yang (RP). It was nice really. Better than the last time I went. The last time, I had a double scoop which cost about $4.90 – Green Tea and Earl grey. Bad choices. So powdery texture. the moment i finish the 1st scoop, I’m already struggling to finish the 2nd one. it is exactly like the pork ribs in cafe Cartel, it is so big that when u finish enjoying half of it, the second half is struggling to finish it so you wont be charged for food wastage. This time, I shared a double scoop with MK where I ordered Ti-rah-miss-you (Tiramisu) and he ordered Double Orange Choc. Both are really nice. Just that there is some alcoholic content for the Tiramisu flavour. But they are both very yummy. Yeah finally tried 4 flavours from udders, more to come, maybe the next time i shall go with my sunday school kids, bet they will love it! wow cool!

Okay, then after that as usual, sent both back starting with ZY who stays in NLC near Newton MRT and then MK who stays in AMK which is near my place. This morning, went home at 0650hours and realised i was late, thank God, when I reached downstairs, a taxi came crawling behind me and I stopped it and took it to camp, really thank God. everything was fine in camp today.

Oh no guard duty this saturday morning to sunday morning, which means I won’t be able to attend the twin’s birthday party. But nvm, the thought counts and I already chipped in for the gift bought yesterday with the gang. So should be fine. This sunday one family from my church leaving for Melbourne already. So fast! They migrated there, which means they gave up their citizenship. Hopefully can visit them soon. Trying to save up now. It is really a challenge to save money. haha. Hopefully will be able to catch up with the kid who is the youngest member of the family cos he is my sunday school kid. I promised him ice cream together with another kid.

alright. almost time to sleep if not i won’t be able to catch the bus that reaches camp on time. Good night guys. wanted to share with you guys the verse that I sent to A, I and TZ just now.

Though it is not easy, only by living a very disciplined life which means putting Christ at the top of our priorities and giving Him the firstfruits of every area of our lives can we be near that command. Let’s continue to trust God on that and encourage and pray for each other!

Thank God wasn’t late for work this morning. the bus came in the nick of time and managed to reach camp on time. PTL. Just back from outing with Jiamin, James, Alvin and Desmond at 313@Somerset. the mall is so so nice and beautiful and big! I especially like the ground floor. the interior design is really good! I really like the design of the restaurant too, the one near Epic Centre.

I drove there and experience of driving up the car park was quite challenging! guess which floor is the 1st storey of car park?

Ans: 6th storey!!! And the path to the carpark is so so narrow! It was a long, narrow and dizzy path up.. But still fun cos I love challenging car parks.

after meeting everyone, we headed to the foodcourt at level 5. The moment the lift doors opened, the fried food smell gushed in and it smells like bbq – unhealthy and oily feeling. The food there were okay only yet quite expensive. But of cos we didn’t expect much from it just that they gave the entire fifth storey for food court and a little space for the shop named “Stadium” where they sell all kinds of sports items with a variety of brands.

After which, we embarked on our main aim to shop for a gift for E****. haha guess who?! The gift description was one that was very hard to find. But we got it too! And i dont know why Jiamin puts it on facebook so fast. The surprise element is gone already if E**** sees it accidentally or deliberately. Anyway, since it’s up on Facebook, I might as well post it here since that was also the only group photo we took on that day. haha. Well not really only photo, cos after we got the gift, we went to look for the accessory and we found it too! So we decided to take another photo with it while queuing up for payment. You know how embarrassing it was? haha but no choice cos we went out with a girl. That’s the problem. Oops .

After which, I sent everyone except Desmond who needed to reached camp before 2359hrs, starting with Alvin. Alvin stays at the very cool HDB in Outram! The Pinnacle! It was so so nice. Due to time constraint, we didn’t go up the roof but he promised us that he will bring us up one day soon. Looking forward, heard that the view up there at the 50th storey is awesome! Then after that sent James and Jiamin respectively.

A New Start

An update on Saturday.. I didn’t go for the Missionaries Sharing in FMC cos I wanted to spend more time with my family especially my granny since she has an appointment with the reflexologist regarding her leg. So joined my mum, cousins, sister and granny for lunch as well before going home for rest.

Did not send Amanda off too cos she did not want to be sent off. So just msged her some good-bye msges. Attended the Teens Department Meeting instead where I got to look at the plans the Teens Department is planning to do. Oh yes! For a new start, I am a teacher of FMCTeens from today on! Teaching the Secondary 1 kids. They were soooo cute! hahaha

I am really excited about this year and I really pray that God will use me to teach the kids His word accurately and spur them to love Him and others and to live Christ-centered lives. I’m also looking forward to do 1-on-1 discipleship with my students so that I can stretch their potential in doing God’s work and gauge their understanding of the bible.

I will be starting to save money too. Pray for wisdom on financial management and a fruitful year of learning to spend my money wisely and also that I will be good steward of the finances that God provided for me.

I will also try to finish the books Jem and James and other people who gave books this year. Pray that God will speak to me thru these books and also plan to read the whole bible this year. Pray for discipline and consistency.

It’s again another year….2010. God has indeed seen me through many areas of my life. From graduation to national service now. And this blog hasn’t been active for so so long. Well, since this is a brand new year, i shall start things right and start blogging!

Just back from Settlers’ cafe Outing with Amanda, Vanessa, Siach, Jiamin and Desmond. Amanda is leaving for Melbourne tomorrow night againnn. I so want to send her off. Can’t bear to see her go. Hopefully she allows me to send her off.

I haven’t thought of any new year resolutions yet but one thing for sure is that I wanna fix my eyes on Jesus who is the author and perfector of my faith. To glorify Him in everything I do.

Secondly, I want to save enough money so that I can go Melbourne to visit Amanda. Uncle Moses was such a nice person, he allowed me to stay at his house if I were to go to Melbourne. Though Amanda stays 1 hour away from him, I will still be looking forward to see her.

That should be all for today.

today was really not a good day for me i think. overslept again this morning only to wake up at 10am in the morning. i was totally apologetic from then on especially after the call by PL. i couldn’t blame anyone for that but only myself for not able to resist the temptation to go back to sleep even after dad and mum tried to wake me up. i took working in syfc for granted thinking that its a christian organisation and so i can get away when going to work late but really, it’s not this case. i shouldn’t be thinking about myself but rather God and others. the people who supported me would want me to be accountable and to start work on time so that their support to me is paid off. and i really pray for good discipline so that the trust that is given upon me by the people who supported me and my mentors in syfc would not be taken for granted of.

in the afternoon, went to meet a student for TG pool payment on behalf of K. it was fun travelling to meet E to collect the payment and interacting with him. but when i wanted to reach for my bridge to life and when i look up, his back was already facing me about 5 metres away. think he was really in a hurry. so pray that we’d be able to share the gospel to him when we meet him again, or perhaps on the competition day itself perhaps during dinner.

after meeting E, i went back to office and spent the rest of the afternoon to call up students whom i contacted yesterday for playmax. it became quite frustrating when some of the numbers were wrong and some students gave the wrong number and ended up calling someone else instead. but still it’s alright. quite a number of them need time to consider so i gave till monday. hopfully and prayerfully that they would really consider and go view the website and stuff and check it out for themselves and then response positively when i call them again. pray pray pray!!!

left EH at around 6.15pm after printing out some notes. then rushed to TTC to attend the course Youth Ministry That Matters. thanks to the coffee in the afternoon, i was really awake and enjoyed the lecture. it was really impactful. PTL. after which, went to Long House for dinner at around 10.15pm and reached home around 1040pm.

alright gonna sleep soon so that i can wake up early tomorrow morning since dad is on leave and wont be waking me up and mum wouldn’t wake up so early. so its on my own. please pray for discipline once again. thanks people! Thank you God!

reached EH at 9am sharp this morning. prepared more questionnaires for the publicity later on. then we set off on the van to ITE Simei. met victor, elene and waimei there, along with ppl from the east area and also peiling who came later. just before we started the publicity around the school, it began raining very heavily and strong wind that broke the stand of one of the Playmax signage, which C was very angry about when we returned to EH later on in the afternoon. But back to the publicity, we went and dispersed to different parts of the school from the foodcourt to the running track, from the atrium to the upper levels, our people were almost everywhere telling students about the event and securing contacts and also leading them to the library where we had our roadshow. it was really exciting, having to meet different people and talk to them and improved my conversational skills through talking to people, from stammering to fluent.

but really, i pray that this would not turn out to be a routine because i love what i’m doing and i’m not a person who would like to do the same thing over and over again like a ritual or a routine. so each time i talk to students, i would treat it as a new beginning where i got to learn new things even through interacting with them.

at about 2pm, we ended our publicity, PTL i contacted about 30 ppl and the whole team contacted close to 250 students!! wow really PTL. so yea, we went to campus haven for lunch while some of the girls went to the foodcourt. the campus haven serves really nice food, i even had waffle ice cream for dessert after my chicken chop rice. was so hungry perhaps due to the enthusiasm earlier that day and i slept awhile on the van back to EH. really nice especially affter a long day and a nice lunch.

went back to EH to key in the list of people that i contacted. quite fun to key in names, you got to be really good in reading cursive handwritings and to think about what this word most likely is due to the cursiveness of the writings and stuff, sometimes even by comparing the name with the email can do you some good in determining the name of the person if it’s not writing clearly or in a hurry. and i think PL made a very good point that it’ll be good to try pronouncing the person’s name after they wrote on the response slip so that we can get their names right.

let’s pray that as i start calling the people up tml, that they would respond positively and that they would come for playmax and eventuallly be ministered to when the good news is shared!

today was quite a tiring day. went to Eh in the morning and did QT according to the schedule. And reading was quite interesting, i can’t resist the temptation to continue reading romans 5 & 6 after reading the previous 2 chapters. Then after which, borrowed kenneth’s staff meeting notes to photocopy at east room. And then we made our way to ITE Simei for contact work. It was pretty fun, having to step into a school so big and new and nice, met quite a few of our christian students like J, XP and WS. And also publicised Playmax to around 16 students. in the beginning of the publicity, there was some fear in me, not so much of like ashamed of the gospel, but mainly on the approach, like how to ask and tell a person about Playmax.

after which, we spotted a church just beside the school, Zion Pres Church, and so decided to go in to ask for permission to hold short prayer meetings in the church premises for our simei christian students and the staff told us to write in to the pastor. Hopefully and prayerfully they’ll allow us to use their premises. Please continue to pray with us regarding this.

tomorrow is the playmax publicity in simei. i’m really excited about it and thank God for today’s ‘trial’ and i hope that God would use me tomorrow – from the experience i’ve gained today – to really contact more students for playmax and eventually share the good news with them.

A new start

This morning, I woke up at 7am but lazed around and slept till 10am and realised I was late for staff meeting. So hurriedly rushed down to EH. Reached at around 11.30am, thought it wasn’t too good and quite rude to go into the hall since I was so so late, so decided to go to the pantry on the 3rd storey to finish up my schedule for the week.

Today was quite alright. After lunch, met PL for a meeting to talk about my schedule for the week and what to do for Playmax monitoring. So yea, quite interesting. I managed to call all our Christians peeps from Simei and told them about the Playmax Pub. on Wednesday and invited them to bring their friends or join us there! Let’s pray that they will, and also that they would be able to bring more friends for Playmax!
